Miranda Lightstone

As compact and race-ready as an Austin Mini Mk1 Cooper Works; don’t be fooled by her small stature. Miranda packs a serious drive, and a fair amount of ambitious horsepower, beneath her bespectacled grille. Plucky and always ready to hit apexes with precision, Miranda’s been round the track a few times with over 15 years of driving and writing experience under her seatbelt.

From as far back as she can remember, Miranda used to tell her mum she wanted a little red sports car when she grew up. Forget a white, poofy wedding dress (which she really didn’t have, by the way) or a mansion on the hills by the ocean (also not something she currently lives in); she just wanted a fast, little, brightly coloured car.

Clearly her priorities were already in order.

“Because Everyone Is Driven In Some Way”

While cars are, undoubtedly Miranda’s passion it’s really her writing that’s the main star here. Since graduating with a BA in Journalism and honing her skills as an in-house editor and journalists for major websites like AskMen.com, Auto123.com and writing for national newspapers like The Gazette and Globe & Mail, Miranda’s covered topics ranging from real estate to how to choose the perfect stroller to co-parenting during COVID and everything in between.

Over the years, Miranda has also dabbled in video vehicle reviews starting as a host on WatchMojo.com then featuring in various videos for Auto123.TV and more recently for The Suburban On Air with her very own series, Driving with Miranda.

“Straight roads are for fast cars, turns are for fast drivers”

Colin McRae

With an opinionated backseat driver who calls her mum, and two cats at home that could care less what she’s got parked in the drive, Miranda passionately spends her time driving anything and everything she can. When she’s not behind the wheel, going for a quick run or exploring the world with her son, she’s relaxing with a glass of red wine, and must never be disturbed in those moments. Seriously. Unless you’re bringing her more wine, then pull up a chair…

Remember: Life is short, so drive it fast.
